Are You a Gun Nut?
| Are You/Do You | Yes | No |
| 1.) Work late and have to walk home or walk through a parking garage? | ||
| 2.) Believe in Reasonable Gun Control? | ||
| 3.) Take the bus home and feel unsafe? | ||
| 4.) Think that if people carry guns, they will shoot each other? | ||
| 5.) Believe that you have a right to defend yourself and those you love, at home or in public? | ||
| 6.) Believe that more gun control is needed, since making guns harder to get legally will surely stop criminals? | ||
| 7.) Believe that taking a test, then a range test, then two trips to the MSP, then a face to face interview, background check and finger printing is excessive? |
If you answered yes to any of the odd numbered questions, you'd probably be considered a gun nut in Brian Frosh's eyes. If you answered yes to the even numbered questions, especially 6, I encourage you to consider these thoughts:
For Number 2:
"While there are gun control measures that are indeed reasonable, the vast majority of the people who support these measures have hidden goals they hope no one will notice."
For Number 4:
Over 36 states have passed shall issue laws, and allow citizens to obtain permits to carry weapons for self defense, and none of these states have repealed their laws.
Of those 36, all have seen reductions in violent crime. Does a criminal want to risk that you are armed?
Vermont, one of the most liberal states in the union, does not require a permit to carry a weapon, allowing anyone who is allowed to buy one, to carry one.
For Number 6:
"Criminals are criminals because they break the law, so what good will creating new laws do, since they didn't follow the existing ones?"
